CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Over 36 years of active involvement in real estate: broker sales and management, home building, repair and maintenance, rehab investments, and education. His wealth of industry knowledge has been shared regularly and enthusiastically with beginners and longtime real estate professionals for over 26 years. He has trained over 50,000 students, not including the tape courses sold to home schooled students.
In 1974 he was hired by the former University of Tennessee, Nashville, to teach real estate pre-licensing and sales and marketing courses and then by Austin Peay State University and Tennessee State University. Hal has been a member of the adjunct faculty of Nashville State Tech since 1975 instructing various real estate courses, and has been teaching the real estate investment class, which he created, developed and has nurtured for the past 10+ years. He also continues to serve as a faculty member of Continual Learning Institute.
In addition to school instruction, he serves as an instructor for GNAR in courses he has developed specific to the industry: Residential Re-Hab, Lead Based Paint, Asbestos and Radon Environmental course, and Hewlett Packard 12C, 10B and 10BII Financial Calculator.
As co-host of a popular radio talk show “Talking Real Estate,” answered real estate questions of interested listeners, creating industry awareness in the community.
Co-founded the Money Game with Dave Ramsey which later became The Dave Ramsey Show.

CAREER HISTORY
He founded The Wilson Group Real Estate Services as a real estate investment group which has grown into a full service real estate company in 1988. Specializing in residential rehab projects as owners and contractors, residential sales and listings, the company is one of the largest volume buyers of residential real estate in Middle Tennessee; he is the managing broker for the company. He has renovated and sold hundreds of properties since the company’s start, and maintains a Tennessee Home Improvement license.
In 1983 he was the co-founder and owner of Continual Learning Institute—it became one of the largest real estate schools in Tennessee. Until 1988 he was the trainer for all ERA Real Estate franchises throughout the United States.
He served as Vice President of Tennessee Real Estate Systems (TREES) and taught numerous real estate courses throughout Tennessee from 1982 – 1983.
He created the “Institute of Real Estate Training”, a state accredited pre-license school in 1982. During development of the school he performed maintenance work during the day and taught at night—this school became a viable part of the real estate community.
Initiated Home Maintenance Co., a paint contracting and home repair business in 1975.
Owned and managed Hal Wilson Co. Realtors and Builders from 1970 – 1974.
He was an Affiliate Broker with Hutton Realty from 1968 – 1970.
INDUSTRY/COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND HONORS
He has chaired and served on numerous committees, facilitated courses, and provided leadership whenever called upon. Certifications include CCIM 101 and GRI.
